...and I was surprised to hear her answers. We are career educators. The wife retires this spring after 41 years of teaching. I expected her to name Warren or Biden as her pick.
She told the pollster,
"I've had it with losing - so even though I love the Democratic field I will vote for Bloomberg in the primary."
The pollster ask her about the different positions of the candidates...and she said, "I'll vote for my dog if they will get rid of Trump."
Wow! I was surprised. We have not even discussed Bloomberg, but we've talked a lot about Warren, Biden, Klobuchar, and Buttigieg. There are Bloomberg commercials on TV here daily. Sanders is well-known, and Yang is unknown here, but I wonder how many really are beginning to think that Bloomberg is a winner?
At any rate, I also wonder if the majority of voters who simply don't vote will come out for this election. Will TV and FB commercials get them off the couch? My wife thinks like Star Wars..."you're our only hope"! In the face of the rallies, the MF45 coup, and McTurtle's hold on the Senate, she has a point. I don't actually know, but maybe Bloomberg would have cross appeal in Florida.
I looked it up. Bloomberg has more than 60 billion. He can outspend the repubs. Our primary ballots are mail-in. We will hold them as long as possible to see what happens (and who drops out) before posting them.
I have some hearts left, so I'll give out hearts to responses on whether Bloomberg can actually win in your home state. Not national polls, but how does Bloomberg come across in your neck of the woods?
