General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI received a 12 hour Twitter suspension for the following Tweet
In response to Matt Schlapp threatening Mitt Romney I wrote "Schlapp needs a slap upside the head."
They said threatening someone violates the rules. Actually it's a play on words but remember it was Schlapp who threatened Romney with violence.
Righties like most bullies can dish it out but piss their pants when someone throws it back at them.

(52,183 posts)sorry, suggesting anyone needs to be slapped upside the head is just not appropriate.
the fact that you're making fun of his name on top of it doesn't do anything to reduce the inappropriateness.
what i do find problematic with twitter in this case is that they allowed schlapp's tweet in the first place, even though that violates the exact same policy.

(6,448 posts)I can think of 2 instances where Republican Congressmen got in trouble for acts of violence.
1) In the last few years, a NY rodent threatened to toss a reporter over a railing in the Capitol. It was caught on camera and he did jail time.
2) A couple of decades ago, CA Congressman Bob Dornan suckerpunched NY Democrat Tom Downey after a vote. The racist caveman ironically was defeated by Loretta Sanchez.
I can't recollect any time when a Democrat showed any violence or threat to a Republican.
And which side is more likely to have a home arsenal?
I'm glad you detest violence. You're one of us.

(56,828 posts)both Democratic and Republican. It's just that Republicans are more likely to test the limits for even verified accounts. Though, if you follow Tony Posnanski on Twitter, he's pretty liberal in his use of expletives and in his politics.
