Rep. Nadler just now: Trump's intervention in DOJ Stone case will be investigated

It appears that the President and the Attorney General have overruled career prosecutors in order to help Roger Stone, who lied under oath on the President’s behalf. 1/2

A President who intervenes in the criminal justice system to help his allies, while punishing people like Lt. Col. Vindman for telling the truth, represents a real danger and the Committee will get to the bottom of this. 2/2

The New York Times
Breaking News: In a highly unusual intervention, top Justice Department officials are intervening to seek a shorter sentence for President Trump's former adviser and longtime friend Roger Stone, after the president called prosecutors' recommendation unfair

Tue Feb 11, 2020, 05:30 PM
Feb 2020

the process is very similar to what we just saw only a little smaller in scale and probably some of the process. When it goes to the Senate though, it may require that all other business in the Senate halts until it's over, I hope.

That could work in our favor since the only thing they are doing is packing the courts, anything to slow that down is a plus. Barr needs to be shut down ASAP. Also, the House may be able to stop all funding to bring them to order.

And then there's We the People who could also do some spontaneous shutting down of things as well because the election is a million miles away and we need to shed as many criminals as we can along the way.

. . . Judge Amy Berman Jackson was appointed to the bench by Barack Obama. And throughout the course of the trial, Stone didn't exactly endear himself to her. From posting an Instagram photo with a target next to the Judge's face, to repeatedly violating her gag order, I have a feeling she won't be all that impressed by Barr's argument!

Excerpt:

WASHINGTON —
The U.S. Senate has confirmed U.S. District Judge Andrew Brasher to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, which handles cases filed in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

Tuesday afternoon’s 52-43 vote fell strictly along party lines.

A coalition of civil rights groups had opposed Brasher’s nomination, pointing to his record on voting rights and abortion while serving as Alabama’s solicitor general. But Republicans who control the Senate banded together to ensure Brasher was confirmed.

President Donald Trump has now appointed a majority of judges serving on the 11th Circuit panel.

“This is an alarming milestone that has serious implications for the voting rights of the people within those states, which happen to be three of the states where voting is most under attack -- especially in communities of color,” a statement from progressive advocacy organization People for the American Way said. “It is simply no accident that Brasher, one of the most die-hard voting rights opponents among Trump nominees, is joining a critical mass of other Trump judges in a circuit that will be pivotal in the next election.”

This goes to show how important it is that we take back the Senate this election, also.

Either subpoena everyone and send out the Sergeant at Arms the instant they refuse to appear, or just don't bother. If the electorate hadn't pushed Democrats to impeach, we'd still be listening to you threatening to maybe consider starting the process of investigating the possibility of subpoenaing someone in relation to the Ukraine extortion scheme.

Investigate and pour on the heat until he's out of office so long as Dems hold the House. The administration is trying to keep that from happening by going after those who testify. So Dems can't back down. Show spine and it will help Dems to take the Senate and hold the House.

Most often regimes have their day like Roman Candles and then things don't end well. Dems can't give up. It's out of the question, imo.
