(12,375 posts)4. When we moved to Port St. Lucie 40 years ago
alligators routinely crossed our street, bobcats cut across our backyard at night, and school busses sometimes encountered wild boars at pick ups where little children gathered to board. Oh, and snakes coming up in toilets of newly constructed homes were not that unusual.
We moved to the Keys where scorpions were a bit friendlier, and iguanas were only pests to flowers.
Still and all, I came from Michigan where the most horrible varmints... yellow jacket wasps... ruined our picnics and every autumn activity!
Ill take the gators.

Bears in some states; alligators in others - humans sometimes leave or are "tasty" morsels.
