This is truly historic. I honestly could not care less who wins New Hampshire tonight.

(24,896 posts)Trump is probably going to issue pardons for Manafort, Stone, Flynn and any other of his crony henchmen.
I wonder if the judge can do anything to block Trump's actions. I doubt it.

This implies that they are opposed to the orders they are getting from Barr's office. Remember that US Attorneys work for the DOJ.
The judge has not recused herself, either.
These attorneys are resigning in protest because they see that Trump and Barr are seriously interfering with justice.
Respectfully, it's pretty obvious how Trump is playing this.

(36,744 posts)That judge should demand that Barr appear before him and explain himself.

(44,446 posts)They knew they could not go back before the judge and claim that their official recommendation was not their position.
The supplemental recommendation--like everything else that surrounds Trump: his election, his acquittal, everything--is illegitimate.

(3,782 posts)Probably "voluntary" as in being ordered to recommend the reduced sentencing, and resigning instead of complying. I am guessing the one(s) who completely resigned might be talking to reporters soon.

(1,115 posts)And Republican Senators simply yawn.
Except for Susan Collins and Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is now terrified. Meanwhile Susan Collins has furrowed her brow while being concerned and disappointed.

(2,705 posts)As I have become more cynical as this year progresses, my first thought as an answer was "Because between those all persons that Trump/Barr have fired or resigned from DOD, DOJ, and all the other alphabet soup fed agencies ARE the only principled staff that exist."
