The Judge could give him the maximum due to inappropriate interference in the sentencing phase.

The judge could sentence Stone but Trump has the absolute authority to pardon him.

Sort of sucks, to be honest. Why did the Founding Fathers give such an awesome power to the Presidency?

Yet it wouldn't matter if Trump just decides to issue pardons. After all, he doesn't have to wait for the sentence to be declared.

Give him 86 months

That's one less than the DOJ objected to

Since they didn't bother to throw out a number they can't object to this

Trump will pardon him anyways but without the agreement of the DOJ

Trump has a Constitutional authority to pardon anyone he wants to.

Why did the writers of the Constitution create this loophole?!

Stone's trial has reached the sentencing phase. The prosecutors and the defense lawyers make their cases to the judge about their views of an appropriate sentence. Stone has already been found guilty. The next step would be for the judge to evaluate the two sides' arguments and then determine the sentence and when it would begin.

Trump can then pardon Stone, probably with a tweet, and that's truly it: Stone would go free.

It could be above or below the sentencing guidelines. Stone might think he'll get a pardon, but Manafort and Cohen are still sitting in jail. I'm guessing even if he wanted to, Trump doesn't have the guts to actually pardon Stone which is why he's trying to have Barr do the dirty work for him before it gets to that.

Those guys aren't very useful to DT anymore. They've already done what was wanted and now have baggage. DT isn't exactly a loyalty guy...well, he expects it but isn't much on being loyal himself.
The only thing that may matter is whether or not they are useful for public relations purposes...you know, a photo op.

that the dems now will have 4 former prosecutors who will honour subpoenas and testify before the house in an impeachment inquiry of Bill Barr
