Business leaders in the little town of Jacumba Hot Springs, CA pleaded with the richest businessman in town (who owns a nudist resort) to buy the Jacumba Spa because it was the biggest tourist draw in the small high desert town and was being run into the ground by bad apples.

Instead, he bought the bank note and as soon as they missed their next payment, he called in the loan and tookover ownership of the spa/hotel. In the deed he found out he hadn't just bought a spa, he'd purchased 46 parcels that constituted most of downtown Jacumba!

He invested a couple million to renovate the run-down spa, helped revitalize a music festival and kept alive a town that was dying on the vine, though long term it's not clear if this will be enough. But it sure was an astonishing turn of events!
