I thought she was smarter than that.

(67,796 posts)She was sorta pressed into it, along with Steve Schmidt, but the McCain campaign. She also made no bones about the fact she was not happy doing it and thought her candidate was a moron.

(16,829 posts)I wouldn't think less of her for being on the McCain campaign. But it was odd to hear Palin mentioned in the same discussion as Klobuchar. Palin was a joke.

(43,867 posts)btw, Warren left the Republican party in 1996 or 1998, depending on who you ask. Just 10-12 years before Nicole Wallace worked in the administration.
"last century" is hardly descriptive of a middle aged woman who promoted the merits of free markets and supported trickle down economics.
But... ok.

(29,557 posts)My tolerance for Republicans was reduced to zero by the 2000 Presidential Election. These are extraordinary times. Defeating Drumpf and retaking the Senate are the preeminent goals. We are going to need any help we can get, even from former Republicans. There's no reason not to be wary and keep an eye on them though.

(1,184 posts)Nicole Wallace is a long-time Republican and was an adviser on John McCain's campaign. To her credit, she seems to have reformed a lot, and she apparently had misgivings about Palin (notably conveyed in Game Change). Legend has it she didn't vote in 2008. Crazy, right?

(40,209 posts)McCain put her in the job of working with Palin after McCain chose Palin for the VP slot.
Nicolle came to the conclusion that Palin was so ignorant and dangerous that on election day Nicolle DID NOT VOTE.
Nicolle also has said that she was so traumatized by having to work with Palin during the 2008 election that she became so depressed that she required psychiatric care.
