persuade all people and groups Democrats rely on to oust the criminal in Nov?
Or do we need to woo people.
Me, I think the prospect of 4 more years of Commandant will be enough to motivate people off their asses.
But am interested to know how others feel.

(34,341 posts)They were certain that everybody hated President Obama as much as they did and were shocked when he was re-elected by such a large margin. I do not give the average American credit for noticing this despicable, illegal, and unconstitutional behavior so we must work harder than we've EVER worked to defeat this cancer on the planet.

(9,110 posts)While the thought of Orange Julius having to dicker with a guy like St. Pete at the Pearly Gates whos dealt with and seen through countless lying BS artists before Orange Julius was even conceived right after the National Convention, I dont think our party or the USA would be that lucky.

(20,820 posts)they bring workers that go the extra mile. Even if one of the dull moderates win the nominee, YAWN, you need someone that can get voters out. I mean in 2018, you had a Texas senate seat that could of been taken. All they needed was to get the Latino under count out to vote. But they didn't come out in huge numbers. Even with kids in cages. That a DNC failing. That's a sign of a campaign that didn't know how to get people to the polls. In 2020 October we need Yang going to college campuses, we need Bloomberg's TV ads, we need PResident Obama and Clinton out on the road getting their people to the vote. At takes a village to beat a big money cult machine.

(25,429 posts)The Latino turnout problem in Texas is a multi-generational, cultural issue that Democrats have been working to improve (with some success) for decades. Ingrained institutional issues aren't generally solved overnight by a few campus visits and ads or a magic wand. Blaming the DNC for everything is misguided, at best.

(50,922 posts)memories are short. Very short. Anger caused one group to ruin the uniting that was supposed to happen in the last convention, and we had an idea then what we were up against.
Rather than wooing, I think we need to all be very vigilant against bots and ratfuckers. None of the candidates who are left is my first choice. None is the one I wanted to see President. I have issues with ALL of them.
But I dont care. Show me someone who looks like he can beat Filthy Donnie, and I don't care what else he's done.
I'm leaning now toward Bloomberg. I think he can win. I'm leaning toward him despite the fact that he hurt me personally by crapping on my union and reducing my pay, probably for the rest of my working life.
But I don't care. My Democracy means more to me than that and if trump stays, my Democracy dies.
I get that people have issues with candidates. But in a very real way, none of those issues matter. It's the Democracy, stupid. And if someone starts to badmouth ANY of the candidates, we all have to remember that. And as soon as there seems to be a clear front runner who the rest of the country is getting behind, EVERY ONE OF US has to get behind that person.
Because it's the Democracy, stupid. Without that, nothing else matters.
