Reading the symptoms of the Coronavirus - they start out pretty much the same as the symptoms of a cold. For some people it stays that mild, for others the symptoms explode in to much more dangerous issues.
After 3 days, what I have is running a typical course for a head cold - the scratchy throat is back to normal and now the worst things is an occasional cough and the imitation of a running water tap my sinuses are performing. I'm staying home, drinking lots of tea (well and the occasional hot toddy), consuming LOTS of chicken soup, taking hot, steamy showers, and feeling better, every day. But it still gives pause to think about people in areas more at risk than where I live. I can easily see how this thing could spread like a proverbial wildfire because of people thinking 'Well, it's just a cold.'

(26,259 posts)This started Sunday night, right out of the blue. I felt fine, went to bed, woke up at 1 with the scratchy throat. I've spent the last 2 days hunkered down, next to a box of tissues and drinking lots of fluids to help flush this out of my system. Hopefully I'm feeling well on the mend, by Friday.

(26,259 posts)Any virus can be challenging if your immune system is compromised. And, since stress compromises immune systems, we are pretty much in a perfect storm situation, right now.
