I posted something that got a couple of comments like that, and I thought they were a little strange...

(1,733 posts)And the bots crank out a lot of strange stuff. What is a journal anyway? Is it different from a profile??

(53,410 posts)That way you can go retrieve something you posted before. At the bottom of the window where your post is displayed there is usually a button you can click on to save to your journal.
I had no idea. You have to understand I lurked he for YEARS before I ever posted.

(46,176 posts)But our posts do go into the My Posts folder automatically. I think My Posts is limited in number, though.
I don't add my postings into the Journal.
lunatica
(53,410 posts)But for some reason mine go in to my journal. Maybe I made it permanent by accident.

(46,176 posts)Frankly, I don't want all my posts in a place where they can be visited. I'm sure I've embarrassed myself a time or two. Or three!

(1,733 posts)Profiles are different from journal entries. In my (timid) defense, if you click on a posters name, you get a green box that looks like a warning: Attention! Attention! No journal entries! Be suspicious! But the next tab is a profile.
But I still thought everybody got a heart this week.
I believe Im on record as saying Im stupid about this stuff
And paranoid.
Stop it right now!

(28,836 posts)The only reference I saw to that was a sarcastic post about how DU was giving everyone a heart to remind people to donate money. It was rather obnoxious, and I don't think it was based on anything legitimate. Perhaps you saw the same one.

(1,039 posts)I have been a member since 2005 (Lurked long before that...thus my name) and I have fewer that 1000 posts so far. Somebody was offering hearts the other day and I did not ask for any. I have never had one given to me yet. The heart thing just doesn't seem to interest me that much
This place keeps me sane though knowing that many people think in similar ways as I do.
Thanks for everybody posting all the time. I appreciate all of the information I am able to get here.

(48,958 posts)but don't comment much. I understand skepticism (and it has always been here - since I have been posting in 2002), but come on. Posters who aren't actively posting are now suspect of something?
Or am I misunderstanding the point of your post - and are you commenting on people raising questions like this - and pushing back - in which case - I thank you (because of the sentiments written above.)

(25,961 posts)I have been on here since the disaster in 2000 and have never entered a single thing in a "journal". I have a couple of bookmarks, but that's it. I was lucky enough to get a few hearts though, for which I am thankful. Just saying a person could be a regular here and not have journals.
