Roger Stone must have "something" on Trump.

Watching Trump via Barr interfere with the sentencing guidelines for Roger Stone has had me musing about the reason why.

Trump is known for having very few friends. They're either toadies, accomplices, and/or craven jocksniffers.

If Stone has a reputation for having the goods on individuals in order to carry out his "pranks," he likely also has impressive dossiers which include Trump, for insurance. Stone is evil, but not an idiot.

Trump is not interfering for rewarding loyalty. He's doing it to save his ass.

The late 70's was pretty crazy with coke and sex-without-lethal-consequences.

Stone is 67. 6-9 years takes him to an age he may not be able to be very active.
Basically, facing a sentence like that, his life is close to being on the line (ignoring what he did)
Stone obviously knows the dirt on Trump.
If Stone rats Trump out, it will make stealing 2020 really tough for Trump ... who will wind up in jail if he doesn't.

Pardoning Stone is probably feared something like Ford pardoning Nixon - it killed Ford politically.

Flynn and Manafort are in roughly similar positions. Like Stone, their negotiating positions largely disappear after the 2020 election because if Trump is still in power, he's impeachment proof and gets another four years clear of jail.

Things happen for a reason. Trump isn't trying to help Stone for affectionate reasons. Trump's being blackmailed by Stone .. just like Giuliani's insurance policy.

My guess is his request to Trump is simple. You can wait to pardon me. But I better not spend one night in prison.

It's an interesting situation. Let's just say Stone gets prison time. Can he really afford to bring down Trump, who is his only chance at a pardon? An interesting cat/mouse game.

I think they waited too late on this. Now they've backed this judge into a corner. Let's say she gives Stone prison time. Like 5 years.

Have they set her up for some sort of appeal where either a new trial is ordered or new sentencing? If Stone stays out on appeal, the 2020 election will be over before the appeal is heard.

From Epstein adventures to probably helping to establish a human and drug trafficking network not to mention the money laundering? You mean that something?

Oh and he probably gave the nuclear codes or location of all our vital military facilities to pootin back during the first russian oval office visit. And i bet pootin has been to maga-laga on one of those yachts. And all the popular names in Congress and elsewhere are all swimming in a cesspool of guilt.

How's that for a horror story? I truly suspect that it's at least 50% of possibilities above.

If we don't fight like it's 1984, we're gonna be sorry.
