Now it looks like the fore person in the jury, in the Roger Stone case, had significant bias. Add that to everything else, and this is not looking good for the Justice Department. @foxandfriends @FoxNews

(42,688 posts)I'll let trial lawyers (not my specialty) weigh in, but the threshold question is whether this juror withheld material information during the "voir dire" stage of the trial. And that is likely to turn on what the defense lawyers asked her and how she answered.

(51,065 posts)Did very little in federal court, but my experience with picking juries is that it's very difficult to prove "bias" during jury selection. For example, in my conservative county it was common for jurors to have law enforcement backgrounds or close family with law enforcement ties. The judge would ask if that would make them more likely to believe the testimony of the police or if they would give that testimony more weight. The potential juror would answer "Nope", usually accompanied with a smirk. Judge would say okey dokey and then I'd have to use a strike to get rid of them. As strikes are very limited, you'd always end up with jurors you felt bad about.
I haven't seen anything from the Stone juror that would lead me to believe she had a disqualifying bias.
