A shit-storm is coming for Don the Con and his ReTHUG goons

Watch the proceedings!
Just wait for the career folks to continue talking as soon as next week. And wait for the public too.

In a decent scenario both the Speaker and the Chief Justice would address the nation about threats to their branches of government and the country as a whole.

The Con will be a one term president - take that to the bank.

He'll keep his eyes closed and his hands covering his ears and not say a word. I really fear that he may have weighed the pros and cons of speaking out in terms not of justice but of his own legacy.

It would appear, from Roberts' viewpoint, that if Trump stays in power, Roberts' silence will only enhance his reputation among the victors as they write history. On the other hand, if Trump loses, Roberts will appear above the fray -- or so he may want to believe -- not sinking to the level of "politics" to engage Trump or his loyal acolytes.

BOTH exposed Trump and the GOP as cowards and fascists. They took VOTES. They committed themselves. There is no hiding when votes are cast.

Rather, it was a cowardly GOP that refused to heed the warnings and the crimes in the Mueller report, which was effective in exposing Trump's crimes and abuses of power. The GOP was NEVER going to favor the findings in the Mueller report, but they had to be exposed. The same is true with the trial. That the GOP, except for Romney, didn't listen isn't the fault of the efforts to expose Trump as a lying fascist. It's the fault of the GOP being afraid to face the truth.

They both cemented the beliefs of the Republicans. I live/work in an area that went 82% for trump in 2106. That 82% believe the Mueller Report and the impeachment just proves that trump is the greatest president ever and the entire world is ganging up to try to take him down because of it.

I'll be surprised if trump gets less than 90% in the 2020 election in this county, from the conversations I overhear.

But they did not put pressure on their senators to impeach. I would like to think you are right and perhaps you will be shown to be right. If that is the case I will happily, giddily admit my error. That being said internal belief structures aren’t easily changed even with hard evidence. Of those who voted for him I cannot imagine him losing any large percentage. It won’t take much to flip a couple of states but that is where the Democratic focus must be. The independents and those who usually voted Democratic but hated Hillary for some pathetic reason must be the target.

Then, he wouldn't last a month past his inauguration, then 3 months, then 6 months, then a year....how did that work out?
The Mueller Report was going to be the nail in his coffin.....he's the walking dead.
The impeachment was going to get all the evidence out there, (which it did) and while it may not remove him from office it would change the hearts and minds of all those supporters. Nope, they are more dug in than ever and he is more embolden than ever.

Your predictions of hearings starting next week where insiders start talking is certainly wishful thinking, I fear it's just that, wishful thinking. I hope I'm proven wrong.
