How many crimes or misdeeds can be ignored if there is a "good economy"?

We here it often from the M$M that such and such candidate will be difficult to beat with the good economy. So long as I got a job and can pay my bills, to hell with everything else? Is that what we are supposed to believe?

Perhaps it is true? Nobody really cares about freedom of speech or whether or not they will get to vote in the next election. None of that really matters?

So long as we have a good economy, even if it is not so good for ourselves, but good for everyone else, then who cares about ideas like democracy and freedom?

2. Well, Kentuck...that is exactly where we are.

We are no longer even isolated and divided into tribes, we are now all islands of self importance. We are addicted to being right and we have the black mirror of the smart phone to prove it over and over day after day. We are looped into algorithms that provide us with only the answers we want and that tell us that we are right all the time. We are stuck in a repeating loop of approval. provided by the "likes" on social media and opinions of "Followers" we will never meet, because most of them do not exist outside of troll farms.

As a good friend of mine opines from time to time... Americans have not suffered enough to get real. So yes... I think it will take a crash
or perhaps a pandemic to get people real and then... really all bets are off.
