Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
The President has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case. A.G. Barr This doesnt mean that I do not have, as President, the legal right to do so, I do, but I have so far chosen not to!

He *really* believes he has the power to obstruct justice. Think about that...
LuvLoogie
(7,002 posts)The GOP footmen saw to that.
Obviously the gop thinks no democratic president will ever be in the WH again. They would clamp down on a democratic president for even a fraction of the misdeeds this orange menace has done, and continues to do. Vote them ALL out. Make America Democratic Again. Happy Valentine's Day to all, except of course any tRump.

(487 posts)...which means he has every power he wants.
Our only hope is that the election is fairly counted to replace his incompetent and egomaniacal regime.

(15,237 posts)The Attorney General attempts to create some distance from the President in an obvious lie that he is not following Trump instructions. The President accepts the lie and then says he can meddle in Justice when he wants to at his discretion.

(18,770 posts)...and, true to form, Trump tweeted again. So, will Barr resign? No, of course he won't, but this morning's tweet blew up the whole kabuki theater from yesterday.

(2,356 posts).... that he blinds himself to what is crystal clear to vast majority of us :: MF45 is a hopeless and irredeemable recidivist of high crimes.
ImpeachTheMFAgain .... and again and again and again.
Let's put those lily-livered repuke senators on the record again.
THAT should increase our chances of taking back the Senate as well.

(421 posts)When the orange Tyrant hints that he should serve 4-5 terms because the election is rigged, believe him.
When he asks on video in the open for China to open up investigations into the Bidens, he is actively doing it.
Believe a Tyrant when he threatens to do that thing which he's already interested in doing.

(1,988 posts)It will be grand. I suspect he will be given the opportunity to tell Mr. trump that interfering in criminal cases is not allowed while he sits there under oath. He will do so, begrudgingly. Then Trump will fire off a tweet contradicting Barr, claiming he can do whatever he wants, blah, blah.... and we will be right back at impeachment again.
Eyeball_Kid
(7,432 posts)the House doesn't have the stomach to impeach him, and they know that when the Senate tries, they'll whimper instead.
Both Trump and Barr have one another's back. This makes Trump happy. They can bounce their lies off one another all day long, and have a good laugh on their morning phone call.

(5,810 posts)Being a lawyer, he knows the rules and the law regarding lying under oath. So watch him weigh every syllable, every.single.word. He will drag out a simple sentence to five minutes of ers, Uhm and lonnnnnggg pauses while he searches his brain for the least incriminating words to use. Pull up a chair. This oughta be good. Droopy Dog under oath.

(15,237 posts)However there is life he must face after this disaster. I wish him at minimum the shunning Dershowitz is now experiencing maybe he will become the second Attorney General in Federal Prison.

(1,988 posts)"Find out who pushed Barr to write that "op ed job interview" and you'll find out why Trump is still POTUS". Barr's presence here was dictated by someone who is calling the shots and insists Trump remain POTUS. And it aint Putin.
When sitting in front of an interviewer, he can pretend the word "interfere" means whatever he wants.
When he is in front of Congress, they will ask specific questions and parse the hell out of the word "interfere". Asking Barr to involve himself in any way in any case involving someone associated with Trump will be construed legally as "interference" and Barr knows that.
Barr will also have to admit, under oath, that Trumps subsequent tweet had the intent of influencing Barr. He boxed himself in on that one.
We are watching the decline. The length of time it lasts is dependent upon either the GOP or Father Time.
