New SSA Scam Call: Received a local spoofed phone call, Asking to dial (346) 248-3592

.

It was a robocall in broken English stating that there is fraud related to my SSN and the police will be called.

When I called that number, just to see the scam, they answer "Social Security Administration."

Whatever you do, don't call that number, and listen to the people in the background.

when seems such an obvious scam, but then again I recently heard that a neighbor friend had paid a con artist $500 to paint the cracks in her asphalt driveway, not realizing that was one of the most common scams.

It's listed as a Bowdon GA number. They left voicemails that said that that is imperative that I or my "retained criminal attorney" contact them right away or else I would arrested.

Typical scam, but interestingly left a different call back #...213-279-9746.

Don't be fooled!

As a general rule I never answer a phone call unless the caller ID shows a person's name that I know or recognize. Any other call goes to my voicemail. I'll still listen to the message because it's possible that it was legitimate. (99% of them are robo-dialed spam.)

My final observation is that the spammers and robocallers never leave a message any more - because it gives people ammunition to file a complaint against them. So there's my solution, I just never answer my phone unless I know who's calling.

"There was a problem with your Amazon order of 299.96. Please call to correct."

I don't remember ordering anything from Amazon that was $299, my last order was $16.

I'm not a violent person but I just want one well placed missile aimed right to destroy a bunch of robocall servers. Just rid the world of their existence. I think that is something both sides can agree on!

It doesn’t cost Amazon anything, so I’m not surprised they haven’t responded.

I reported the number to Verizon as potential scammers, and that was two months ago. Haven't heard back since. Why have customer service if nobody responds to you?

Appears these Scammers are using Mailing lists from either Esperian,or from some Insurance Company.

Notified our Credit Union minutes after the first Scammer, their response was, they have been getting hundreds of calls on these scams and have brought in extra Cyber People to protect their Customers.

People have to shred every piece of paper with any type of Phone, address label or the most important is anything Bank related. All they need is one Routing Number and all hell breaks loose.
