pRick Scott's reply to my letter re: impeachment

Thank you for contacting me regarding the acquittal of President Donald J. Trump.

Ultimately, the information presented to the Senate by House Democrats and White House Counsel demonstrated that there was zero evidence for impeaching the President. On February 5, 2020, I joined my colleagues to vote for acquittal of all charges of impeachment against the President.

Our Founding Fathers feared that impeachment could be used as a partisan tool by partisan actors, and their fears were realized with this recent impeachment charade led by Speaker Pelosi. An act as divisive as impeachment should have bipartisan backing and overwhelming support and should be a last resort when there are high crimes and misdemeanors. That is why I have filed a constitutional amendment to raise the threshold to approve articles of impeachment in the House of Representatives from a simple majority to a super-majority vote of three-fifths. After the circus we saw in the House, it is clear changes need to be made.

Now, it is time for Congress to get back to work for the American people. I came to Washington to get something done for families across the nation and will continue to fight to improve the lives of every citizen in Florida.

Again, thank you for your correspondence.
Sincerely,

Rick Scott
United States Senator

We're lucky here - Al Lawson is our Representative. While is is not the best on women's issue or the most liberal, he is a solid Democrat when it really counts.

A lovely bright blue spot in the midst of all the north Florida red. We had the good fortune to have Gwen Graham as a Representative for a short while, until GOP gerrymandering took her away. Al is not as liberal as Gwen but I will take him for now.

The part I am worried about is the next round of gerrymandering and what kind of contortions they will use to try to split up our area. Right now we're divided by a snakey live between District 2 (Neil Dunn) and District 5 (Al Lawson) - which meanders all the way to Jacksonville. It's amazing that we got a Democratic Rep. with the way they contorted our district!

If you really believe that it's time to "get back to work for the American people", maybe you could politely ask Mitch McConnell to come out of his damned shell and allow a vote on the almost 400 PIECES OF LEGISLATION the House of Representatives has sent to the Senate for consideration and debate.
Otherwise, take your fake concern, shove it up your ass, and shut the fuck up.

If it was an email, respond back and ask about Trump's admitting that he sent RICO Rudy to Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden.
