Another choice for male voters re Obama & Romney: Do you want to enjoy having a lot of sex, or not?

If you think about it, the issue of having easy access, or not, to contraceptives could cause a lot of conservative, young, heterosexual men, or conservative heterosexual men of any age who have relationships with premenopausal women, to vote for Obama and Democratic candidates for Congress.

We progressives have long noted the hypocrisies of so many conservatives who support various moral constraints aimed at the masses......but who ignore their own moralistic "principles" when sexual desire, or other real life circumstances, cause them to "stray".

The thing is, at this point in time it's easy for conservatives who rail against premarital sex, abortion, and other conduct that they oppose, to ignore the prohibitions they espouse. They solve that problem by simply and hypocritically doing whatever they want to do.

However, if oral contraceptives are outlawed, and/or are made difficult to acquire as a result of business owners and managers choosing to exclude them from their companies' group policies, there will be little recourse for hypocritical conservatives who want to partake of the hedonistic lifestyle against which they so vehemently preach.

If the women they are involved with cannot procure contraceptives, then those men, even those who are married, will often be out of luck when they wish to hop into bed with the objects of their desire. I was talking to a young guy the other day who professed great support for Romney and the Congressional conservatives. I asked him "Would you rather have Romney and Congressional conservatives in charge, and do without a lot of the sex you now enjoy, or would you rather have Obama and the Democrats in charge, thereby allowing you to continue your present hedonistic lifestyle?" His answer was "Hmmmm......I didn't think of that".

Somehow, we need to cause them to in actuality THINK of THAT. I know MY life would not have been nearly as enjoyable as it has without women having easy access to contraceptives. We all know that the "little head" is what leads many men when it comes to deciding what to do, or not to do. We also know that "a stiff dick has no conscience". We should exploit those two aphorisms. It will be tough to do in good taste, but the mind reels with the possibilities, some of which are quite funny.

I guess I was thinking that women would be more attuned to the issue, and thereby have this thought in mind on a more automatic basis, and that a lot of men would not be thinking this way. But yes, you are correct, and I apologize for any negative implications to the contrary.

On edit: I also kind of assumed that many men erroneously thought that contraceptives were ONLY a women's issue because it is often approached from that standpoint during political discussions. When you really come down to it, I think that my point was, to men, "Hey, it's not just a women's issue......we men should ALSO worry about a lack of access to contraceptives".

had enough of a "conscience" to see the right of things, once the big head was motivated.

your post was good until the last paragraph of the idiotic little head garbage that the men like to play around with.

I think the point was the reality that the "idiotic little head garbage" is what motivates too many men, as opposed to the "big head", and that such a reality should be taken into consideration when we want to point out ALL aspects of getting men to vote Democratic, whether we like how some men think, or not.

It should include MEN'S vasectomies too. My husband's was covered by his health insurance 28 years ago. This is 2012. Why not today?

I think his ward said that he wants to make condoms illegal as well.
Imagine, having to go to Canada to by rubbers, and Mexico for Playboy magazines.
