Haven't heard anything about how Brexit is going. Any specifics yet?

I had some blood drawn a couple weeks ago. My nurse had a Union Jack lapel pin, so asked her about it. She said it was going to be a huge clusterfuck and would renew problems with Northern Ireland, but so far I haven’t seen anything in the news. I imagine it’s because a lot of things are supposed to be phased in and haven’t really happened. Isn’t the U.K. on the hook for billions owed to the EU, did the English Trump agree to pay or is he blowing them off like he said?

There will be continued negotiations until the end of 2020 and who knows how that will end. The question of Northern Ireland is complicated---there can't be a hard border between NI and the Republic, and the UK government doesn't want a border-like situation between NI and the rest of the UK, but that leaves the trade issue in an absolute mess

I participate on a UK based forum for over 50s (age group). The posters are generally conservative. They are not happy that they won their exit, they want the entire EU to fail miserably too. Nationalism is going to be the death of Democracy everywhere. Putin must be a very happy man.
