If it is Ken Cuccinelli's call whether Virgil Goode will be on VA ballot...

Rachel was doing a piece about Virgil Goode being on the ballot in VA, and he damage that could do Romney.

The State Board or Elections said Goode qualified for the ballot but the Republicans are ginning up a criminal investigation of Goode's signatures, and it appears that Ken Cuccinelli (VA AG) will have the final say on the legitimacy of Goode's qualifying signatures, and if that's the case then I doubt Goode will be on the ballot unless the Virginia Supreme Court orders him there.

Ken Cuccinelli is an animal. He is one of the wingiest wing-nuts out there. He's the guy whose first act in office was to tell state universities to void their gay tolerance policies. It was so crazy that governor Bob "ultrasound" McDonnell had to intervene.

I put nothing past Ken Cucinelli.

“Congressman Goode is on the ballot, and his name was drawn to occupy the third position on the presidential ballot,” said Virginia election board spokeswoman Nikki Sheridan. “The allegations of petition fraud against the Constitution Party have been forwarded to the office of the attorney general for investigation.”

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II’s office declined to comment on the status of the probe, but Virginia Republicans made clear Tuesday that the issue is far from settled.

“Even before our letter, the attorney general was conducting a criminal investigation into issues with Mr. Goode’s petitions,” said Virginia GOP chairman Pat Mullins.

“We have simply reported to the SBE additional systemic problems that warrant review. These problems display, at best, a stunning disregard for Virginia law. Mr. Goode owes the citizens of Virginia an explanation about the irregularities in his petitions.”

...is he claims he'll be "absolutely objective" even as he's out there campaigning for Romney. No way in hell Goode will get on the ballot.

in every election in Va there is a greater-than-expected turnout in the Shenandoah Valley and in fact Jerry Kilgore's mother (way out west of the Valley) got caught registering 13 voters who didn't actually exist.

From what I have heard at the campaign offices Terri MacAuliffe WILL be the Dem nominee in 2013.
