Awful ending to this race.

Ryan Newman was leading on the last lap, got clipped and went airborne, car flipped and caught fire. No word yet on his condition, but it looked terrible.

then got T-boned and launched a second time.

Ryan Newman was pulled out alive and sent to the hospital.

11. Very bad crash. It didn't look like a typical walk away

and understand he's been transported directly to the hospital.

I haven't seen this somber and sober reaction by all involved since Dale Earnhardt's crash at the end of the Daytona race those many years ago.

14. I got bored with the politics so I watched

The last hour and a half of the race I hadn’t watched NASCAR in a long time. There were a lot of crashes and stops and starts. But when I saw Newman’s crash my stomach turned. I don’t think I’ve had such a horrified reaction to anything lately.
