Question, on NOT allowed to vote. (Not my problem BUT)

If your in a situation where they DO NOT allow you to cast your vote, (Important swing states especially) What can you do? Would be nice if the Democrats would set up a phone number or place where people could file a complaint immediately!! Keep tabs of WHO and how many were NOT allowed to vote! Maybe this is already happening? Just curious because i've never heard of anything like this.

You outlined the correct procedure. Cast a provisional ballot. That's all you can realistically do.

the person may need to provide additional info (proof of address, etc.) to the local election commission in order to get it straightened out. Just casting the provisional ballot may not be enough to actually have the vote counted.

Have a place to REPORT what you did? Just to keep track of what is happening to ALL people? I think that would be nice to have numbers as to what really is happening in some states. Could this be possible?

IIRC in the past the party has set up various methods to report it if you were hassled/not allowed to vote but I forget the details.

I'd imagine we'll get instructions from the party w/similar methods to pass among ourselves as November approaches.

Also, don't rely on the poll workers to tell you can cast provisional ballots. You should know that you can, and insist they let you do so.

Another post below has more details from ACLU.

LOL...Honestly, though. An APP that would report and compile issues. Heck, even snap a picture.

Would also like the Democrats in each state set up a hot line, so WE could verify everything is correct! Don't know if i really can trust Election protection hot-line. (paranoid i guess)

"Just a reminder that voters who experience problems in the election on Tuesday can call a national hotline that is staffed with legal experts to answer questions. The hotline number is 866-OUR-VOTE.

The hotline is run by Election Protection, a coalition of lawyers' groups, such as the Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the Brennan Center for Justice.

The group will be aggregating problems in real time at 866OurVote.

Voters can also send Tweets about problems to @866ourvote."....(more)
