Republicans in Oregon, California want to secede and become part of Idaho

https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Republicans-Oregon-California-become-Greater-Idaho-15065765.php

Frustrated with Oregon's liberal government, a conservative group wants to transfer Oregon's rural areas to Idaho, according to the Washington Post. While Oregon leans Democratic, Idaho is a historically red state.

The group, called Move Oregon's Border for a Greater Idaho, is asking 18 Oregon counties to approve their petitions to open communications with state legislature. If approved, the group would then have to collect signatures of about 6 percent of the counties' populations to see the referendum show up on their ballots. After that, both Oregon's and Idaho's state legislatures as well as Congress would have to approve the changing of borders.

If they want to be part of Idaho, why don't these knuckle-draggers just move there? Trust me, the "libruls"in those states don't want to govern racist trash like this anymore than they want to be governed by liberals.

If people there want to live in Russia why don't they just move there instead of getting a lot of people killed trying to change Russia's border to include their land in Ukraine? Russia has lots and lots and lots of room for them--just like Idaho.

When changing the districts inside a state no longer gives you the high you need, you need to go to changing the shape of the states themselves.

There's been a sign on a barn off I-5 up near Shasta advocating for a new state carved out of CA for decades. Ain't gonna happen.

All these Rugged-individualist Welfare Ranchers just don't like City Slickers tellin' 'em what to do, but they would dry up and blow away without our money.

The resentment they feel is the inverse of the resentment we Urban Liberals feel at being governed by the Electoral College and the US Senate. Except we have a legitimate complaint: disproportionate representation.

Back in 1941, it was gaining traction and was looking to be something. That is, until until Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and it was quietly relegated to the back burner.

A separatist thing since about the 1940s. The modern manifestation of it is very Tea Party-ish.

But I live in southwest Oregon. No way we're letting the yahoos attach us to Greater Idaho.

Although they could have everything east of the Cascades.
