Dear Never Trumpers. I really appreciate that you hate Trump as much as us. However...

YOU are the reason we're here now.

YOU were the ones who doggedly harassed President Clinton based on unfounded rumors and half-truths. And, you threw in a completely cuckoo conspiracy theory that he murdered everyone around him to cover up a cocaine business.

YOU created Fox News and Rush Limbaugh (both who built and fed the rise of Donald Trump).

YOU sent a mob to the Miami Dade County office building to disrupt the lawful counting of votes.

YOU ignored a memo entitled "bin Laden determined to strike the US" ONE freaking month before he did and killed 3000 of your countrymen.

YOU smeared a man and his friends, after he was tragically killed, by mocking his memorial service (with bipartisan attendance) as a "campaign event".

YOU participated (or sat back - both are equally bad) in building a gigantic lie around non-existent WMD's in Iraq, got us into a ground war with that country that resulted in thousands of dead US troops and HUNDREDS of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians (not to mention billions of dollars that could've been used to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure).

YOU applauded a guy who was NOT doing a "heckuva job" while NOLA drowned.

YOU rigged the financial system to the point it threw us into the worst recession since the Great Depression.

YOU harassed the first African American US President by claiming (or remaining silent about it - again, equally bad), despite abundant proof showing otherwise, he wasn't born in this country.

YOU REFUSED to work with this man on ANYTHING. No compromise, nothing. Even when he adopted policies YOU were in favor of, you turned on your heels and DENIED you were ever in favor of it.

YOU denied this man his legal right of selecting HIS SCOTUS nominee.

After all of this, YOU run around with your hair on fire that Trump is a danger to Democracy and he must be stopped. And you have the unmitigated GALL to think YOU have a voice in choosing OUR nominee in 2020.

Let me tell you something.

As usual, our country is DEEP in crisis due to YOU, and it's up to the DEMOCRATS to pull our (YOURS included) collective fat out of the fire.

YOU brought us to this point. YOU don't get to opine on our nominee AT ALL.

Sit the fuck down, we'll roll up our sleeves and fix YOUR fucking mess YET AGAIN.

You're welcome.

They dug up the corpses of dead ideas and made up scandals and brought the parts to the GOP lab so that the REThug mad scientists could stitch together this monster. Now the monster has escaped the lab and they are running through the streets terrified.
NOT FORGIVEN. They are NOT our friends.

If Mitt Romney were to get up on his white horse and ride in to "See the day" they would all be shouting hosanna.

BTW... you forgot their never ending quest to destroy Hillary with Benghazi, her emails and of all else failed, her husband.

and they won't talk about regretting their non-support of Hillary, while being just as loud as the Never Trumpers about how awful he is.

The animus toward Hillary, not all of it fueled by misogyny, is largely responsible for Trump's election. The Never Hillary crowd, whatever their reason for not wanting to vote for her, have at least as much to answer for as the Never Trumpers because we had no right to expect them to vote for Hillary. We should have been able to depend on good Democrats to support the party, especially against such an ogre.

I look at this number and wonder why we are always so focused on the undecided voter when the non-voter pool is so much bigger. I think the party has been in reactionary mode since the 60s, while the GOP has had a strategy that has almost played out. It took a couple of generations, but they've been playing the long game and with this election, they see the end in sight.

compared to the 100 million who didn't even vote!

Yeah, sure, Stein voters are traitorous assholes, and the 'never trumpers' are really little better than the Germans who thought they could control Hitler if they helped him into power, no argument.

But more than 10 times any margin, however one counts it, simply didn't even go to the polls.

THAT is where the problem is, that is where the opportunity is.

I will note in passing that I watched former Republican Congressman David Jolly, now an ex-Republican Never Trumper, on TV the other day and found something he said to be refreshing. He actually responded to a probing question about the Democratic field of presidential candidates that, as a non Democrat it isn't for him to weigh in on who Democrats should run, he will vote for whoever the Democrats nominate in order to defeat Trump.

K and frickin' R.

For all their protestations of innocence, they knew what they were doing and why and they kept on doing it happily.

We may giggle over things they say right now, but if a reasonable rethug appears to assume leadership, they will turn their backs on us and use their "particular set of skills" to attack us.

They do not deserve our trust or accolades.

That's THE biggest pet peeve I have with NeverTrumpers! If they want to come together with us to work against Trump and resist and ensure that he doesn't get a second term, then that's great but if they're going to be stupid and pigheaded about who OUR party's nominee, they can stuff it! They have a party and they need to fix it but they don't get to have a say over our party's nominee!

I had to stop watching Nichole Wallace because her little giggle, after she reports on some awful thing the Con just did, drove me fucking crazy. I know it was her way of expressing, "Can you believe this is even happening?" but there's never any acknowledging on her part, or the part of her GOP guests, that they have any responsibility in this mess at all.

I remember the blaring backdrop “WE BUILT IT!” on that 2012 Republican convention several cycles back.

They didn’t realize back then how right they were. But yes. Yes, republi-CONS. YOU built this. This political construct whose deep-down-in-the-underbelly where nobody’s supposed to see or be able to look at. YOU DID build this. You built every frame and armature and brace and crossbeam. You built this with every figurative nail and hammer strike.

We have trump because of everything YOU did to bring it about. Every seed you planted, every campaign slogan, blog post, speech, and op-ed you issued and ran with, and ran ON, through multiple election cycles.

trump is the logical conclusion to this construct-from-the-bowels-of-Hell. It’s the ultimate realization of the “if/then” exercise we learned in high school science and math and even entry-level philosophy classes. You set up the hatred of government and all those institutions you despise because you don’t want anybody to tell you what to do. You disguise it with such verbal farts as “rugged individualism” and “he’s a maverick” and “self-made blah-blah-blah” that might sound loud ‘n’ powerful but still smell bad.

But trump IS the ultimate result of those themes, when they’re allowed to play themselves out all the way, unfettered, unchecked, and un-FACT-checked.

A gifted, charismatic leader like Obama comes along maybe twice in a lifetime.

The last time the country had a leader with such extraordinary capacities was with JFK, and he was rubbed out, along with MLK, Jr. and RFK, who clearly would have beaten Nixon.

But no need for messy assassinations these days. The right wing just does its standard disinformation routine and refuses to act (to the point of ignoring subpoenas).

double secret classified because democrats couldn't be trusted with that information. How the hell does that even make sense? As if the deep state they make believe is real, wouldn't have found that out, and somehow keep it under wraps even through eight years of Obama? Plus the benefit of proving to the world they were right and the war was justified, would have far outweighed any security concerns.
