(15,072 posts)3. Aren't the sentencing guidelines (not Barr's, the original ones) part of a law passed by Congress?
Doesn't that make this not all that surprising? I mean, unless you want to get an ethics complaint filed against you with your bar, don't you have to honestly attempt to follow the law in all your interactions with the court?
