might give Trump sufficient justification (in his mind) for a pardon. At least now there is some chance that he will serve all or most of his sentence.

If Trump's big objection, that the proposed sentence would be too harsh, then maybe he won't pardon Stone. OTOH, Trump is without shame.

If you hang around the legal communities that talk about this, nobody gets the guidelines when it comes to something like this. And because, as the judge said, there's so little comparable.

I get it, we want to see these people punished, but we want appropriate punishments meted out to all. Which means things like this will be a bit raw for some.
