I am going to assume for a moment that the Democrat wins in November.

I am also going to assume that whoever is elected will of course look forward, but also Take a good hard look backward Trump and his regime.

Of course, they are profoundly vile and corrupt, every single one of them. But here’s the question I’m asking. What actual crimes can they be charged with? Not necessarily violations of the constitution or moral and ethical failings. Actual statutes.

How likely is it that New York State will bring real charges for real crimes real evidence and real penalties against Trump and his minions in New York City in New York State? The New York State AG seems pretty serious, but I haven’t seen anything in the news lately.

It’s hard to know how many genuine, decent people remain in the DOJ who are ready, willing, and able to act on day one with investigations moving toward indictments and prosecutions.

And not only Trump. Barr, Mulvaney, Conway, Esper, DeVos, and so many others, as there have been so many opportunities for corruption and criminal wrongdoing.

And maybe the first question should’ve been, do you think a Democratic president will investigate, or will they take the Obama view of looking forward, not back.

1. WHEN we have a Democratic President, House, and Senate

Then I would hope that there are some serious consequences for this band of thieves. We tried the "let's just get along" bit, which just allowed these assholes to get stronger again. After Watergate, I think I remember that more than 50 members of Nixon's band received jail terms. But none of the Iran/Contra gang ever had anything happen to them (thanks for that, Bill Barr). And the Bush/Cheney cabal skated as well.

If there are never any consequences, then the bad behavior will continue.

Federal charges and State charges should both be considered, IMHO.
