Prosecutor: Alleged Georgia white supremacists planned to kill others

More targets’ found on cellphone, including local journalists

Three men accused of belonging to a white supremacist group here saw their alleged plot to kill a Bartow County couple as a trial run for murdering others, a prosecutor said at a bond hearing for one of them Friday.

Assistant District Attorney Emily Johnson called Luke Austin Lane, 21, of Silver Creek the “catalyst” and a recruiter for the neo-Nazi group in Floyd County. She said Lane’s cellphone identified “more targets,” including local journalists, though she did not name them.

Lane talked about killing a fellow member of the group as well as his own father, she added, and his phone included instructions for making explosives and “untraceable weapons.”Lane has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and participating in a criminal gang called “the Base,” which authorities say is bent on overthrowing the U.S. government, starting a race war and creating a white ethno-state.

in redneck land (and I can say that because I am from here) there used to be a deep and abiding distrust of the Russian government. It's like somebody flipped a switch one day and all of that disappeared. *poof* It's crazy.

eta: I realize we went through glasnost and perestroika and all, but still, the open acceptance of a foreign power - Russia, no less - meddling in our affairs and threatening our national security just blows my mind.

One of these terrorists is from a town not too far from me. I am not surprised. These awful racists never went away. They have been emboldened by MF45.

These men are easily influenced, uneducated, racist, redneck, white supremacists. In other words, the perfect target for the Neo-Nazi Base leader, who is living in Russia, to recruit to perform terrorist acts against American citizens and residents here in Georgia.

Two alleged members of white supremacist group denied bond

ROME, Ga. -- Additional charges will be filed against three men who are accused of belonging to a white supremacist group that prosecutors say plotted to kill a Bartow County couple, overthrow the U.S. government and start a race war.

The new charges — animal cruelty, livestock theft and possession of a dangerous weapon — were detailed Friday by Assistant District Attorney Emily Johnson as she successfully opposed bond for Michael Helterbrand, 25, of Dalton, and Jacob Kaderli, 19, of Dacula. The animal cruelty allegation involves a ram that was stolen and killed during a “Norse-pagan ritual” in which the participants drank its blood and posed for photos with its severed head, said Johnson, of the Rome Judicial Circuit. And the weapons charge, she said, stems from the group’s possession of a gun silencer.

The men are charged with participating in a criminal gang called “the Base” and conspiracy to commit murder. A third defendant, Luke Austin Lane, 21, of Silver Creek, remains in the Floyd County Jail with them and is facing the same charges. Lane is also seeking bond, court records show, though his hearing had not been scheduled as of Friday.

GOPers were anti-Stalinism because of governmental control and ownership; now GOPers worship the Russian strong-man oligarchy and white supremacist state.
