Could we now say that Trump and the Repugs are committing 'treason' because they are actively going along with Russia by not doing anything to prevent Russian interference and essentially condoning Russia's actions?

(12,502 posts)calling Moscow Mitch and the repubs traitors, because that is what they are. It's time to play hardball.
Also, we just learned Bernie lied to us about the russian assistance to his money coffers and polls, so he needs to drop out now so we can regroup and get a Democrat elected as president.

Are we going to fall for it and let it happen to us?
We're smarter than that. We need to unify now - more than ever - and not let them - along with Trump and the Repugs - have their way with us.
Unfortunately - given then shots everyone is taking against everyone else is proving otherwise. Even here on DU - it's looking that the Russians, Trump and the Repugs are being successful.

(25,451 posts)Sedition or seditious conspiracy might be more applicable, though it may not meet the conditions there, most notably the "force" component of the various statutes. Prosecutions are rare, and I think it's been about 25 years since anyone was convicted of either - Omar Abdel-Rahman in 1995.
More than likely, it falls under laws governing foreign interference in US elections or some type of conspiracy or both, combined with the cybercrime aspect.
