Are you too smart to be propagandized?

I thought so. Me, too.

What we fear is that our fellow Americans are not.

They'll fall for anything. Hit 'em with a lie enough times and they'll believe it.

Let's stop pretending we have to save 'them' from the propaganda. 'They' feel the exact same way about 'Us'.

Call out propaganda when you see it. Call a 'lie' a 'lie.' Offer truth and facts to back it up.

Win the minds, the hearts will follow.

How stupid are these fools, HRC was running a sex ring out the basement of a pizza shop?

Didn't think to enter it normally on a dry run first to case the joint, nope ya just waltzed in, shooting, meanwhile, no basement, which if you got the blueprint, you'd know that and not be in prison, maybe?

Same darwins who do hard drugs think they can fly, but don't try it from the ground first?

One stumble = on death's door, Hillary still fine 3.5 years later, sorry lock it uppers, that was played out, she wasn't guilty.

If you forgot this crap..... happy to remind you.

Be careful . and good luck!

I will apologize for wrongness and misunderstandings.

That’s not a proud statement. It’s mostly plain common sense. My comprehension of right-vs.-wrong informs me that Trump is transparently phony, insane and LIES in tonnage figures. And his personal history of failure, vengefulness and litigiousness supports that conclusion.

Anyone who thinks this lawless Russian lapdog is great is immediately suspect, IMO.

of crap filling up my brain that is pure bullshit. Sometimes it's easy to see truth, but other times...like when reading an article, it's not always easy to realize facts are absent. No direct quotes just people 'close-to', lots of if's and might's/and could be's. Very subtle, but easy to swallow whole. Propaganda can be just perception. Doesn't have to be false, just over-blown, or vilified.

I've bought into falsehoods. But the difference between me (and I hope most of us here) is that I can quickly call bullshit on myself when confronted with contradictory facts. The Trump supporters I know can't/won't do that. They just double down on their bullshit.

Since we rarely have direct personal evidence of major events, we receive our information second hand. We can all be misled. We not only have logic working for us, but emotions as well, the two don't always work together to provide a complete version of the truth. There is a reason that many people with strong religious beliefs are also willing to believe in Trump. It is surrendering logic in order to be told what they want to hear. To question the Trump vision is to be a heretic.

The conservatives are sure that all liberals are being misled by lies and evil forces out to destroy our nation because we hate freedom......In a word, they think we are the gullible ones....

Having an open and skeptical mind helps immunize you from the "big lie." A working knowledge of history is very helpful to see through the fog of lies. The Republicans do not have a problem with using the big lie as they feel that the ends (unlimited power) justifies the means. The party faithful are willing to keep the blinders on as long as they are provided with food and circus, and they are given someone to hate, blame their problems on and have the promise of being great again. They are led to believe that destroying the nation given to us is actually patriotic and see themselves as modern "Minutemen." That is the biggest reason they cling to their guns. The guns are not for hunting, they are not for "sport shooting" they are meant to protect them from YOU.
There are ten times the number of guns, in the hands of civilians, in the US as there are hunting licenses issued each year.

THE BIG LIE

"All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying"......(Hitler then goes on to accuse the Jews as the "big liars.)

Adolph Hitler

MORE ON THE BIG LIE

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Joseph Gobbles

We are standing on the brink of the rise of American Fascism. We are reliving the history of the 1930s but we still have a slim chance of avoiding the inevitable consequences. We look back on the Nazis and wonder in amazement, "How did the Germans let Hitler come to power." You are seeing how. I may sound paranoid, it is a paranoia based on the study of history. Whether or not I am a nut is inconsequential, you had better believe that the conservatives are out to get us. Spend some quality time reading on gun forums and you will see what I mean. Don't bother trying to argue with them, you just as well argue with a stone.

Try to remember that Hitler and his followers did not "seize power" in some sort of coup, they were elected, in free and fair elections, by adoring crowds who wanted to make Germany great again.
