I'm leaving, might be back after the election

Too many thin skinned people, too many people crying, too many people giving up, too many people with bad grammar, too many people who don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, too many people who make blanket statements mostly about what people in red states "deserve", too many people who don't know the difference between your and you're and probably yore, too many people who want to argue over stuff that doesn't matter, too many people with too much time on their hands, too many people who likely have never had a conversation with a republican, too many people who likely get all of their news here, too many people who think ellipses are better with 15 to 20 dots,(and too many people who write run on sentences). You know who you are. I'm stuck in the reddest part of one of the reddest states, I come here for encouragement and liberal sustenance but am worn out by the rancor over trivial shit. I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way. There will probably be a race to alert on this post. Knock yourselves out, but there's a contest coming up to decide the fate of this nation, bitching and moaning at each other over small matters is not helpful. I believe we have a number of candidates who could win and one that can't, even if everyone at DU votes for that candidate. To the rest of you, good luck and happy trails, to those of you who recognize yourselves above, get out of the basement and expand your horizons. Buh-bye, TTFN. You may commence the alert.

You didn't mention people who write monolithic paragraphs that make it difficult to read what they are writing.

There didn't used to be a separate forum for primaries and browsing GD with all that primaries toxicity required a HAZMAT suit.

At the same time, some of our people were not that nice. While I looked in often, I didn't officially return until after the 2016 primaries. Other than Bernie and Tulsi, I'm fine with the other candidates. If I have to vote for one of those two, it will be with NO joy.

We are all in opposite world with these Republicans challenging even truth. It is the primary season. I know who I am voting for so I keep away from there. I have noticed interference like you have but I am on to the game and my ignore is full. Peace.

That way you don't have to see all the crap and still find something on DU to read. I haven't don't that this year. During primary time I get loads of jury requests that are about 95% from Primaries. It's true this year but seems to be less.

I just laugh at the grammar most times. The worst offenders are usually those who think they are the smartest person in the room.

Most of us will be here when you come back; just make sure you vote. And let’s hope fervently that we have a Democratic president soon.

Of course those are by far the most numerous. I might have to take a break myself. As it is, trying to go to the breaking news thread mostly, do what you gotta do to stay sane. In a couple weeks the Coranavirus might start dominating. I doubt they are going to contain it. So far it’s not that dangerous but could mutate going forward.

and everyone will be united behind whoever wins the nomination. I live in a 90% red zone DU gives me a place to
talk to people sharing my views, keeps me from going mad. If we don't win it will be back to a circular firing
squad again for a while.

Feb 2020

I'm a teacher, and I know that some people have a hell of a time with writing skills. Many of those same people are intelligent and have much to offer.

I've been here a while, so I know what primaries can do to this place. I stay out of the "Primaries 2020" forum, except, I imagine, when I'm serving on a jury. Although posts from that forum don't show up in my latest or greatest pages, they do show on the DU home. I ignore them, just as I do writing skills.

I come here because I like being able to read diverse opinions from people who, in general, think the same way politically as me. Despite the writing errors and the occasional rancor, this is a swell place to hang.
