I have no info re:what the @SecretService pays for hotel rooms these days, but when I used to go to Palm Beach with #JFK and Mrs.Kennedy, all the agents stayed at Woodys Motel. We paid for the rooms out of our $12 per diem which also had to cover meals & laundry. #PresidentsDay

$12 today might get you a meatball sub--if you have a coupon.
No wonder they didn't care about that whole Marilyn Monroe thing. They weren't paid enough to care.

My grandfather had a 6th grade education. He ended up living in a gated community (not San Quentin).

In 1943 they made him a flight engineer on a four engine bomber in WWII.
Simpler times. Now they want a college degree to manage a Taco Bell.

economical price for hotels. Also, shopped around for cheaper meals. Reason was because per diem (per day dollar amount) was just tht and you whatever was left over was yours. Used the lfetover to add to household budget as military salaries didn't compare to industry.
