Can you believe this shit? Our schools and places of worship are being turned into bloodbaths and what do these people say the problem is? Oh, the poor oppressed gun owner of course!!!!!!! So the problem with the country and gun violence is that gun owners need MORE protection, from laws we haven't even gotten passed yet?????????????????????
fuck these people........ The state should cut all their funding so long as they choose to ignore any of the laws (if they pass). Make them fight it out in court... that's how the system is supposed to work.

LIVINGSTON CO. (WXYZ) Livingston County commissioners voted 6-0 to pass a Second Amendment sanctuary resolution Monday evening, making Livingston a sanctuary county.
There was debate over this resolution in recent weeks, where residents argued for and against the resolution, which would limit what law enforcement can enforce when it comes to guns.
"I believe that we need sensible gun laws that are designed to keep everyone safe," said Cindy Kalogeropoulos, a long-time resident of Livingston County.
Now that the amendment is approved, the county is declared a sanctuary area, meaning it would prohibit law enforcement from enforcing certain gun control measures like universal background checks, assault weapon bans and red flags laws all considered to be a violation of the Second Amendment.

(88 posts)That said, I have seen areas in this country that can take more than a half an hour for a police response. In the Midwest, where drugs and eco mics have devastated the areas, there has been a rise in unsolicited violent crimes. Many out the the county areas are vulnerable because of a new type of criminal that cruises the rural areas. I believe these people deserve protection. I will not defend the crazed militia types that need 150 guns in their home. What I will say is very controversial. The second amendment has caused more people to flee to the Republican Party than any other issue, even abortion. It has caused democrats to lose many offices. I will say this and I hope its not taken with anger or defiance. This is an issue of mental health. Only an insane person commits mass shootings. There has to be a way to compromise to keep guns out of their hands and in the hands of those who are responsible citizens. If our party could come to terms with this, then we would see many more voters due to our historic platform being for the working class. My grandfather was a devout democrat that lived on a farm his whole life. He taught me that a gun is merely a tool. A tool that is designed to kill both animal and man. It can only be as good as the person using it and it should only be used in defense. I truly believe that if we fixed the angst that we face everyday from economics and the hatred of others and got back to real mental health treatment we would see way less gun violence. Our society has brought this crisis upon us.
