One thing I hate about Trumpism (among others) is the evangelical nature of it...

They are compelled to brag and "share" the glory of their dear leader. It's getting worse and worse, too.

It's like half of the country has turned into a bunch of cheesy used car salesman, the kind that can't keep from telling you about all the "new inventory" he's just got at your Sundy afternoon barbeque. Sheesh, give it a fucking rest.

The Church of Saint Ronald simply has a new star televangelist/grifter/swindler because he's better at stirring the flock than its more recent pastors.

I have known they are predisposed to believing in fantastical things. And taught to never question.

They're a minority. It's just that their Jim Jones got into office, and now they're bravely flying their freak flags and the media helps them

They are insane. There is no content. It's just sheer, mindless worship of their "Dear Leader". They are so brainwashed it isn't funny. It really creeps me out.

but they've infected a football forum I frequent. Not the actual football talk, thank god.

Bit of a long story. There used to be a separate forum for discussing 'sensitive' topics such as religion, war, and politics. Worked well for a while, until some folks felt 'constrained' by rules involving profanity and personal insults, so they opened it up to coarser language and personal insults and suck. That was before Trump.

2016 rolls around and the Trump Trolls were out in force. Before long, they just shut it down completely. Couple of months ago, they tried to re-open the forum, politics only, with some rules of behavior. It's already being overrun with Trumplodytes linking Fox news and shit from D'Nesh D'Souza and such. Locally, on that board, they outnumber us.

Guess I should just stay away and let them "win."

The hatred that they have in their hearts means that they have already lost. Nobody who feels and hates that way ever "wins".

I've learned their "wink, wink, let's see if she's one of us" tactics. They casually begin a conversation about something innocuous and in a matter of minutes, they slip in something "red" to see what kind of reaction they get.

It's like they can't help themselves. Then, when you either don't respond to confirm their love of all things Trump, or else indicate that you're not one of them, they hate you.

I'm fine with them hating me. I am a believer, but I thank the good Lord on a daily basis that I am NOT like them.

Being told to go forth and spread the gospel is blatant approval to harass and recruit. Feed lies to gullible people in weakened emotional conditions, then exploit them for their own cultish purposes.

Yet somehow they have managed to acquire a thin veneer of legitimacy. They have ALL drank the appropriately branded kool aid.
