Trump seems to be in total denial about the seriousness of the threat. This will likely cause panic among Trumpers when they finally realize he is full of shit and is not doing anything to protect us.

Katrina had deaths. In general, Americans do not like seeing innocents dying due to government negligence.

Awful to say, but maybe his cult could overlook a certain amount. Every day there’s a new low, a new thing where normal people think this is the one issue/comment/policy that will do him in....but it never happens. It would take all day to list the “OMG final moments” of the last 3 yrs. So if it’s not a hellscape nightmare pandemic, he’s good.
