(118,642 posts)I guess they don't want unregulated meat markets to be the cause. Because people might decide they like regulation. Limbaugh also said it was like the common cold implying Trump's enemies were using it to tank the markets and make Trump look bad.

(12,712 posts)Q-Anon will be right on that. Anyone who has not seen the extremes of that conspiracy group and just how main stream it is going would be rather shocked.
If you want to talk about an alternative reality, (started on a message board known for merry prankster propaganda) where nothing but belief and, "sounds right to me" are the only criteria used, then the gullibility factor will simply astound you. Alex Jones capitalizes on that, as well, as well as any other fringe topic that he can use to draw into his army of fools. The thing is, you have to tell them they are special, woke, on the side of the good, (God), etc. Bingo!
Their are other, psychological reasons that may account for that phenomena, but the numbers of people that are prone to it are getting alarming, which suggests a deeper, systemic problem, as well. It helps to understand it more, rather then to toss useless insults at them. In fact, it is a difficult situation because trying to convince "true believers", (especially when they get dangerous, and they are becoming so) of anything is not just frustrating and ineffective, it also can bolster their believes and support their confirmation bias.
No, really, you may have no idea what is spraying out of the conspiracy theory hoses, (which are to be distinguished from actual conspiracies which often supply enough evidence to make a case).
