how much do you pay for the washington post?

just wondering

they have $29 for first year and $100 a year after that

i have a little extra money so i'm wondering if i should invest in that. seems like this would be the year to do it considering... and the election

(i should probably send du a donation too--it's been a long time)

5. If you have Amazon Prime

You can get a free six-month subscription, then it's $3.99 a month. It's easy to cancel online (unlike the NYT which requires a phone call).

8. Good to know! I have Amazon Prime. Will switch to that when my $30/yr intro rate expires.

Otherwise it will pop up to $100/year.

12. They must have ended that offer.

I have Prime and the offer for me is one month free and $5.99 per month thereafter.

Not a bad deal but I'm currently living (or trying to) on a fixed income and it's hard to justify another expense, even a minor one.

6. I got that $29.99 for one year deal, but when the year expires in September, it'll be $100 to renew.

Sounds like the same offer you got.

The best time to give money to DU is about a week before Valentine's Day, because then they give you a "heart" for each dollar you give DU. You can then anonymously donate those hearts to whatever DUer you like. The heart will appear on their signature line. It's really cute, and people love getting hearts. But any time is a good time to give money to DU, heart or no.

7. For that offer, you're able to share WaPo with another person (I've had it for three years now). . .

So you can either share the cost or gift the second readership. It's a great deal.

out that I got plenty of WaPo news from DU and other sources that didn't involve any cost to me.
Make your best decision.

I get a lot of news here.

I also have paid subscriptions to the NY Times, Washington Post, Daily News and the Guardian.

Unless you think reporters should be working for free, you should be paying for news delivery.

You can always find the same stories on newspaper sites that do not have paywalls, or elsewhere.
