On one hand I think people are a little hysterical about the coronavirus.

On the other hand I feel like Trump/Pense and the rethugs administration are ignorant fools and liars so that doesn’t give me any comfort. And it appears there are other countries sticking their heads in the sand. So I’m glad it’s causing the tangerine terror some grief I suspect it’ll be awhile before the picture gets clearer. I’m not going to get too stressed or try to find face masks to stockpile. But for now I’m going to postpone my plan to cancel some life insurance I’ve been carrying to save money; guess I’ll keep it a couple more months.

It’s not only the thought of dying, it’s the high likelihood of becoming severely ill. Struggling to breathe is no fun.

2-4% mortality rate CAN reek havoc. But we have little data as the Chinese as usual, have held back

if enough people die at the same time the corporation will simply go bankrupt leaving your beneficiary as an unsecured creditor.

That a significant percentage of deaths would all be insured by the same company.

Even if that were the case, most major insurers have billions in reserves to pay for such claims.

If a company did become insolvent for some reason, their policies would be transferred to other companies under the state's Guaranty Association rules

But, there is a chance this one is much worse.

Fact is, there’s not much we can do but take a few precautions and hope for those most at risk.

I feel like if any one else was President, including George Bush, the fear around this would be much less. Trump last night not revealing a plan at all and then turning his press conference into a partisan campaign rally spooked everyone.
