HS in Washington State canceled due to COVID-19 worry

Bothell High School is closed Thursday "out of an abundance of caution" after a staffer's family member was placed in quarantine for possible coronavirus

If we start closing while schools and workplaces for a single possible infection, even just for a day or two, the disruption could be massive and chaotic.

It has to be done but people need to realize it's a possibility and plan for it.
Talk to your family.
What is your kid's school plan?
Does your work have a contingency plan?
How do you get paid?
Do you get paid?
What is your state's plan?
County's plan?
City's plan?

1. We could just shut down everything for a while.

Everybody should move into their isolation pod and hibernate until about November 2. On November 3, we all get together and vote against incompetence, malevolence, greed and treason.

Out of an abundance of caution, of course.

that somehow it won’t stop elections in general? That our next President can be elected by the voters of blue states only? Sure.

This is literally insane....closing an entire school because a family member of someone is in quarantine.

Japan shut their entire school system down until mid April.

World leaders are getting sick and dying. It’s pretty freaky right now.

but the way Trump has gutted our health and disaster response agencies maybe it’s better to overreact than to regret not reacting at all.

We’re not prepared the way we used to be. It’s better to remember Katrina than to dismiss it because of fear of overreacting.

In today’s world kids can keep up with classes and people with work via the internet.

There’s nothing wrong with an abundance of caution. Children are in the high risk groups.
