Trump slashed the govt agencies that deal with epidemics.

Trump spent the past 2 years slashing the government agencies responsible for handling the coronavirus outbreak.

...

The CDC cut 80% of its efforts to prevent global disease outbreaks.

Shutting down the entire global-health-security unit of the National Security Council.

Eliminating the US government's $30 million Complex Crises Fund.

Reducing national health spending by $15 billion.

Consistently attacking Mark Green, the director of the US Agency for International Development.

Thanks, Trump. His shortsighted focus on money, his greed and avarice is going to end up costing him (and therefore all of us) more than we can even imagine. Wait until he starts lying about death counts and patients flooding hospitals. He has left the country vulnerable and ill prepared to deal with a major health crisis of pandemic proportions.

most responsible for handling this crisis. The representatives sitting in front of Congress has been full of answers such as 'I'll get back to you on with the answers, etc.', in response to ?s posed by rep./senator kennedy.

Just wait until he capitalizes on our loss and vulnerability.

The weaker or more devastated the country becomes the more he is able to strong arm it. At that point, chaos and a failing economy won't matter because he will have emergency powers that expand his capacity to dictate and strengthen his regime. He knows how to play this game and envies the great dictators that are his role models.

This is no longer a situation where we can make our usual assumptions about how catastrophes might work. A real demagogue is at the helm and that changes the nature of the game immensely. In this case, it is a shock and awe, Hegelian dialog kind of a thing, except: Trumpian Brand.

He would cancel all of Obamas projects and the scientists in charge of disease prevention were let go.
