Trump aide Kudlow urges calm: 'Stocks look pretty cheap to me'

National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow urged calm Friday as global fears about the deadly coronavirus sent stocks plummeting once again.

Kudlow, President Donald Trump’s top economic advisor, said in a Fox Business interview that investors shouldn’t “rule out more optimistic options.”

There’s no guarantee cases of the disease will “skyrocket” in the U.S., Kudlow also said.

He added: “Stocks looks pretty cheap to me.”

I'm no financial guru, but last I checked, stocks becoming "cheap" is a bad thing. It means they have lost a lot of their value, right?

Stock prices are going to look cheaper to you, you imbecile.

It's like the crash of 1929. John Rockefeller said he was convinced of the soundness of the American economy and was going to keep buying stocks. Someone (Will Rogers?) quipped that Rockefeller was the only person with any money left to buy stocks.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway A stock was $343000 last week. It is $305,600 today.

Each share has lost almost $40,000.

One I invested in a little in 1998 is Texas Instruments. It was $131 last week. It is $111 now. That's a $20 a share drop. My cost is about $7 a share (paid $54 and it has split two-for-one 3 times), and I don't need to sell now, so it's just a spectator sport for me, but if my financial well-being depended on the stocks remaining at the highs of last week, I'd be in panic mode by now.

This is what happens when we stop being viewed as a population and start being viewed as an economy.
