(10,104 posts)That wed started it at the same time the UK did and never had the employer-based system at all. Then it would just be a fact of life and not the most pressing issue (IMO) we have today.
I have a cousin in England and we discuss this on occasion. He said the people gripe about the NHS but any politician (no matter how right-wing) who even suggests trying an American system - kiss of death to their career.

Im saying everyone should have an opportunity for a good education, whether as a physician or an auto mechanic; everyone should have access to quality healthcare; everyone should be well fed; and everyone should have a safe and comfortable home to live in.
