Reading up on the botched evacuation of Wuhan and the hearing about what the whistleblower said about health care escorts traveling freely and unprotected on commercial flights to their home bases.
Haven't been able to find a list of the airports they are referring to.
I flew between Dallas and Hartford and Hartford and Chicago and Chicago and Dallas all during this period of time.
I know, chances of infection minute, but still brings me pause to think it's all so secretive and loose. And many evacuees and escorts weren't even tested.

(1,583 posts)It is everywhere. There just aren't enough being tested for it to show this yet.
The die is cast.

(42,770 posts)and NY doesn't trust the results. Nor that Wuhan evacuees were " not asking for toys or entertainment but were begging for testing"
Wonder how they know if you don't get it within two weeks you are safe? There's enough data out there to be proof certain? Read yesterday that someone got reinfected. Not building antibodies.
I wish all of us who flew during that period had been warned more. Bought a mask and disinfected my seat handles.
I fear what you said is true.

(4,220 posts)Im not hysterical over it; however Id be lying to you if the thought hasnt crossed my mind.
Were younger; both of us are 40 and in overall general good health. So our odds of becoming seriously ill are probably not grave. However; weve begun to err on the side of caution and have increased our consciousness on hand washing and touching our eyes; nose & mouths with our hands; as well as limiting our contact with others via handshakes or embracing as we are in regular daily contact with the general public through our occupations.
At this point; theres nothing more we can do.
What will be will be...

Agree, young and healthy otherwise a plus. Wonder what the demographics are of the 2,900 who have died.
EarthFirst
(4,220 posts)The leading age demographic of COVID-19 fatalities is 80+ at 14.8%
In our demographic; 40-49 its a mere .5%

(42,770 posts)Almost all deaths were of people with pre-existing conditions. Wow. There's a line item " no pre-existing conditions" death rate = 0.9%
