Supply Chain...thoughts, questions...

I was visiting a friend last week in the Bay Area and as I looked out at all the ships...tankers, containers, etc. I wondered if any of THOSE ships would/should be stopped from docking due to people onboard or even the supplies themselves carrying the virus...

so while we aren't stopping commercial flights, and that is a whole issue in itself.

...think of all the people that come from ALL over the world on those oil tankers and the other shipping liners...

I am sure this thing is probably already off the rails as far as containment/transmission/exposure....we just haven't gotten past the incubation stage fully

Because it isn’t just the ports.

Domestically produced food is shipped by trucks. If folks start getting sick and don’t realize it, they can easily pass it around the country.

We rely on the movement of commerce in our lives, to a point that we can’t even imagine. People are used to going to the store and buying stuff. Empty shelves won’t help reduce panic.
