It's the second consecutive sailing on that ship in which passengers and crew fell sick.
This time, Caribbean Princess reported at least 228 passengers and 17 crew members suffering from a stomach bug during its 14-day voyage, which was shortened by a day due to the outbreak.
Passengers leaving the ship told Local 10 News they, and crew alike, began taking precautionary measures after what they were told was an outbreak of Norovirus.

(251 posts)I like the idea of a cruise, especially as I get older but I don't like:
- supporting the use of slave labor
- the environmental damage
- the history and spread of illnesses due to understaffing and cramped conditions

(86,515 posts)let alone leave port! Viral incubators, I don't care how much entertainment there is.
Guess I'm not easily distracted from the fact that I'd be one an isolated vessel with all those other people and whatever they have going on and we're over some deep-assed water. I have the heebie jeebies about being over water that is over my head. The only time I'll go in water over my head is in a pool where I can see the bottom.

(33,320 posts)I have one in a pond. The ducks come right up to it.
This should be fine for cruising the Caribbean, right?
Hurricane season would be an extra incentive to PEDDLE FASTER!

(14,961 posts)to our island probably about less than a mile. He traded that and a jet ski for our first skiff, it's funny looking back I loved the little 16 ft. skiff more than the couple larger boats we had in the following years.
That sounds lovely, with the ducks coming up to it.

Maybe having 5000 people confined in a small space isnt such a good idea.

(14,961 posts)a couple weeks ago, when they began to get ill on the Diamond Princess. I know that's not how the world works, but I agree no way would I go on a cruise right now, no matter how much I loved it.
