I highly recommend the unabridged version of The Stand by Stephen King. I have been saying for years that I believe it is one of the great American novels of the latter half of the 20th Century.

Geez, I read it more than 30 years ago, I think. Much of it is still vivid in my memory. We have a couple of the books here in the house, I was thinking about pulling one out to read. And, as I said, much of the beginning of the book is still vivid in my mind. Stephen King is one hell of a story teller.

800 pages is a long book
after finishing I found it was actually the short version
I was pissed
