Biden is the presumptive nominee? Pressure a foreign country for an investigation that eventually gets you impeached.
Biden is 4th place? Crickets.
Biden sweeps South Carolina primaries?
"Senate Republicans plan first subpoena in Burisma, Biden probe"
"Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) is preparing to subpoena a witness tied to Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma, in an escalation of the GOP probe of the firm that comes as former vice president Joe Bidens fortunes are rising in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary....
Johnson sent the letter one day after Joe Biden was announced the winner of the South Carolina Democratic primary, a victory that has resurrected his campaign and shaken up the race for the 2020 nomination.
In an interview Monday night, Johnson denied that Bidens win sparked his subpoena request, noting that wed still be asking for the same information regardless of Bidens status as a Democratic presidential candidate."

(16,254 posts)They are so smitten with getting Biden, and the ink wasn't even dry when he pulled out the request for subpoenas.

(32,789 posts)I voted for him in 2007 but he is our weakest candidate to beat Trump, be honest people. Republicans are going to smear him just as bad or worse how they would smear Bernie for being a Socialist. Maybe people won't believe the smear campaign this time but I have no faith in saying so. Bill Barr is behind this too. Republicans and their cult are just pure evil.

(32,789 posts)Trump will dump Mike Pence on July 16th, the day that the Democratic nominee will give his or her acceptance speech. Trump will announce Niki Haley to be his VP to get the suburban mom vote.
This is why Trump put Pence in charge of coronavirus to give himself an excuse to dump him.
Begala doesn't predict it, he guarantees it.

(25,216 posts)It is not a story about the primaries, it is a story about a GOP Senator being a dick and bringing up the crap IMPOTUS was impeached over. Could legitimately be posted either place in my opinion. People not remotely interested in the primaries forum would still be interested in this information.

(5,255 posts)Could be seen to be - swaying voters on Super Tuesday to think of Joe as:
1. The presumptive nominee... (There really isnt one yet. No candidate has yet demonstrated a path to the nomination before the convention).
Or
2. ... former vice president Joe Bidens fortunes are rising in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary....
Johnson sent the letter one day after Joe Biden was announced the winner of the South Carolina Democratic primary, a victory that has resurrected his campaign and shaken up the race for the 2020 nomination. - The entire focus of those sentences is clearly about the Primary race, not about the investigation of Biden.
My take is that this article is more about the primary candidate Joe Biden, and should properly be in the primary forums.
You asked, thats my answer. I could be wrong. Its too early in the morning for me- no coffee yet.

(25,216 posts)I disagree, but I understand your point of view. I don't go to the Primaries forum unless something from it looks interesting on the Greatest Page. I might not have seen this if it hadn't been in GD.

(25,216 posts)with every intention of holding on to it until such time as he felt the card should be played. If Biden hadn't done well in SC, he wouldn't have bothered.
This is another example of why it is every bit as important to win the Senate as it is to win the presidency.
