They came very close to saying Sanders is blowing off the Black vote by skipping Mississippi today and heading to Michigan to appeal to white people. WOW. A pretend Democrat ignoring the south is a very bad idea.
we can do it

(77,324 posts)If Bernie gets blown out in Florida & Michigan it is over.
BTW notice how many former democratic Presidential candidates that have
endorsed Bernie? Ah, zero.
Happy Hoosier
(9,535 posts)1) He dissed African Americans by not even pursuing the Clyburn endorsement because "his politics are not my politics."
2) He skipped the Selma commemoration.
3) He got his ass kicked among blacks on SuperT, and now he's decided to write them off and pursue that precious WWC vote.
He IS blowing off the vote. And frankly, he has to, because black voters have his number.

(7,541 posts)I know he votes with us, but does he work for other candidates in elections? Is he working for down ballot candidates? I keep asking and never get an answer.
I agree he has some great ideas but he is not bringing the party together ( and that really helps in elections) and he insults the "establishment". Who does he think he would be working with in Congress if elected.

(27,834 posts)So, it's a mixed bag of demographics.
Joe will be in Detroit for a rally, on Monday, after attending a fund raiser in Grosse Pointe Farms with former governor Jim Blanchard, Detroit's mayor, Mike Duggan and former mayor Dennis Archer.
I know it's too much to hope for a surprise visit to Flint. Maybe after the convention.....

(17,622 posts)I think Joe's going to take Michigan but that's just my gut instinct.

(27,834 posts)However, I remember both Clinton and Obama making stops, here, during the 2008 primary campaign, and that was before the water crisis. Joe's headquarters are in downtown Flint. Bernie's headquarters opened up a few weeks ago, right down the road from me, in Flint Township. I'm kind of surprised I haven't had any Sanders' canvasing visits, yet. If they do stop by, before Tuesday, they will be made welcome. I may be supporting Joe, but I'm not going to do any Bernie bashing since that is so counter productive.
My gut also tells me that Joe will take Michigan.

(12,648 posts)Bernie will withdraw in Michigan. He is cutting his loses.
spooky3
(38,634 posts)looks very bleak for Sanders.
For example, he said Biden will pick up most or all of MS. Biden has more appeal to the MI male white blue collar workers than Clinton did (and now the governor has endorsed him). Washington now has a primary rather than a caucus. Etc.
