The Strongest Evidence Yet That America Is Botching Coronavirus Testing

Bottom line is CDC is being politicized.

Updated at 4:07 p.m. E.T. on Friday, March 6, 2020.

It’s one of the most urgent questions in the United States right now: How many people have actually been tested for the coronavirus?

This number would give a sense of how widespread the disease is, and how forceful a response to it the United States is mustering. But for days, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has refused to publish such a count, despite public anxiety and criticism from Congress. On Monday, Stephen Hahn, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, estimated that “by the end of this week, close to a million tests will be able to be performed” in the United States. On Wednesday, Vice President Mike Pence promised that “roughly 1.5 million tests” would be available this week.

But the number of tests performed across the country has fallen far short of those projections, despite extraordinarily high demand, The Atlantic has found.

all of the people on the cruise ship where 46 were tested and 21 were positive.
Sure hope there is an investigation of all of this. My gut tells me to follow the money. Just today they lined up private industry to make kits. Wonder who got those contracts and how did they get them.

"TWO Northern Ireland firms said former secretary of state Owen Paterson's £500-an-hour lobbying work for them is "a matter of public record".

The Guardian revealed that Mr Paterson took part in lobbying campaigns for food manufacturer Lynn’s Country Foods and the healthcare firm Randox.

Documents seen by the newspaper reveal he had several meetings with officials and another with a minister and wrote asking them to take steps that would benefit the companies.

It claims Mr Paterson has also twice used House of Commons stationery to write to ministers on behalf of Randox when, under the rules, House of Commons stationery cannot be used for "business purposes"......

"A recent visit to Washington DC by former Brexit secretary, David Davis, was funded by US business interests that want the UK to weaken its food and environment standards after it leaves the EU, Unearthed can reveal.

Davis visited the US in November 2018, together with former environment secretary Owen Paterson and the Institute of Economic Affairs’ (IEA) controversial trade expert, Shanker Singham, to discuss a post-Brexit US trade deal with the Trump administration.

The group met with senior trade and agriculture officials before travelling to Oklahoma to meet with its Lieutenant Governor, Todd Lamb, and visit agricultural research facilities at Oklahoma State University.

According to the register of MPs interests, funding for the trip was provided by several organisations, including the Institute of Economic Affairs and an Oklahoma business group called the E Foundation.

Earlier this year an undercover investigation by Unearthed found that the E Foundation had agreed to provide tens of thousands of dollars in funding to the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), with the aim of influencing Brexit."...(more)

I discovered the information about CDC test being based on Randox tech was erroneous. Investigation of the debacle still needed, but Randox not a factor.

them for profit.

I’m willing to bet on this.

Anyone who believes the CDC is suddenly making these kind of mistakes is not very observant. Big pharma wants to get these contracts. For profit.
